RVA Rising is a local group of non-profit organizations, businesses, regional institutions, civic leaders and everyday citizens who are working together to ensure that all people regardless of race, ethnicity, background, or zip code have the opportunity to thrive.

RVA Rising is an inclusive and expansive group of passionate and emboldened regional leaders and citizens who believe that everything is coming together at the right time to make meaningful and lasting change in our region. We are breaking down barriers, setting aside past grievances and moving forward together in a unique and collaborative way.

Yes. We have done extensive local research to understand the needs and voices of our communities, and we are continuing to asking for feedback along the way. We are also getting support from local and national partnerships, taking an action-oriented approach that will sustain this project for a long time to come - until we all get the job done.

We’re starting with five core areas – high-quality education, rewarding work, inclusive neighborhoods, access to quality health care and fair governance - because we believe these are the most important cornerstones that all people need to grow, thrive and have peace of mind. We know there is a lot to get done, and progress won’t happen overnight. But we’re in this for the long haul and we’re committed to making a difference.
